Warning to Parents: A Nightmare Warranty Loop & Financial Trap 📉
I feel compelled to share my experience as a warning. After purchasing glasses with a warranty for my child from GlassesUSA, the frame broke, and trying to get a replacement has been an infuriating cycle. To put it bluntly, this place is the worst I've ordered glasses with added warranty and needed a replacement due to the frame breaking and each time I've needed a lens replacement they tell me my choice of frame is out of stock and will therefore he receiving a store credit plus a small % which doesn't make sense then how do I end up with a cheaper and lighter pair than the previous? I'm so tired of dealing with this crap from glassesusa plus a 30 deductible for the replacement. If you want quality eyeglasses for your child look elsewhere they seem like a good choice but are not . They haven't got 1 order right since purchasing with them but in order to not loose my money I have to choose until they get it right all while decreasing the value of my order I started at like 189 now it's somewhere around 130 a total joke and robbery you don't even realize due to the way they credit back and their fake discount codes. After this frustrating loop, I had to call customer service to demand an explanation.
Customer: Why is my warranty credit so much lower than the $189 I originally paid? You’re making me pay a deductible for a cheaper replacement. It’s not right.
CS Rep: I am so sorry for the frustration. Since the original frame is unavailable, our policy is to issue a store credit for the value, minus the deductible.
Customer: That policy is a joke. I started at $189, and now I'm down to $130. How is that fair to me or my child?
CS Rep: I understand completely. This is not the experience we want for you. I can waive the $30 deductible and add a $20 courtesy credit to your account immediately.
Customer: Fine. But this whole experience has been a nightmare.
CS Rep: I have applied the credit. I truly apologize for this situation.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent other parents from falling into the same trap.
